I doubt it. But (possibly) picking a new name is a minor consideration when the big news is that the Oakland A's will be getting a new stadium. Twenty-five miles south of Oakland, but not all the way to San Jose, where the company that's footing the bill is based. Cisco, the world's largest maker of computer-networking stuff, is rumored to be planning to be planning some techie-type features like a way to buy your hotdogs and beer from your seat, using a wireless device.
We'll have to wait a bit to see such wonders, of course. The new ballpark will take two or three years to construct. But the A's are committed to Oakland and McAfee Coliseum through 2010 anyway. So we've got awhile to argue about their name.

So buying hotdogs and beer from your seat with a wireless device? What's next, free internet access at every seat? It was better when baseball was 'America's Pasttime'. A chance for American's to forget about fast paced world outside of Dodger Stadium. Oh well, I guess everything must keep moving.
